Face to Face Youth Protection UPDATE

We have just been informed by BSA National Council that the State of Texas has ruled that BSA's new online Youth Protection Training will satisfy state law regarding all licensed youth camps. This means:

If you have completed the new BSA online Youth Protection Training course on or after March 13, 2018, you no longer need to take a classroom-facilitated version of the course in order to camp with your unit at a licensed camp (camps of four or more days).

What does this mean for you? If you have not yet taken the new BSA online Youth Protection Training course, you must do so by October 1, 2018 ... or you won't be able to recharter with your unit at year-end.

To take the new online Youth Protection Training, please visit my.scouting.org or complete the face to face facilitator version to satisfy the State requirement.

Message from Michael Surbaugh, Chief Scout Executive - May 9, 2018

Many of you know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) has been a chartered partner of the Boy Scouts of America for more than a century. I’ve been grateful for our long-standing chartered partnership that has provided countless boys across the country with character- and leadership-building experiences through our programs. Our movement has benefitted greatly from the thousands of Scout leaders who have selflessly served over the years in Church-sponsored units. Read More
